Kylee Dean launched Shear Savage in 2017 and runs it as owner and lead stylist. The salon works with balayage and corrective color, and it offers a set of cutting, color, extension and treatment services in one studio on East 12300 South in Draper.

About

Haircuts include a one-hour women's cut done with scissors only, which includes a shampoo and style, and a 30-minute express cut that clients can book as a walk-in when their hair is clean, dry and straight. Color services cover single-process darkening and glaze retouches, a quick glaze that neutralizes unwanted tones, grey and root touch-ups, and full lightening including balayage and highlights. Hair treatments include a Malibu treatment that removes product build-up, hard water deposits and pollutants and reduces static, along with a K18 treatment and a scalp treatment. Extension move-ups and new installations are also offered.

Free consultations are available for clients weighing extensions or a color change. The salon aims for natural-looking, easy-to-wear results and describes its goal as a positive, supportive space for both clients and stylists.

Booking is handled by phone or the salon's booking system. Cancellations or changes need at least 48 hours' notice. Changing an appointment within 48 hours requires a $50 deposit before the next booking, which is applied to the rescheduled visit and is non-refundable if that visit is cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice. Arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as a no-show and requires rescheduling, and a no-show fee applies before future bookings; exceptions may be made for unexpected situations.

Hours are Monday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The salon is closed on Sundays.

The salon aims for natural, effortlessly polished results and wants to be a supportive place for both clients and stylists.
