Seraphic Spa

Seraphic Spa was founded by Kaylee, who created Seraphic Head Spa as a place for people to set aside daily pressures and recharge. Kaylee first set out to become a nurse and worked at UPMC before choosing a different direction.

Visits are booked by appointment only, and the space is kept soft, slow and quiet, insulated from outside noise and activity. Guests are asked to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early, are given a complimentary premium bathrobe to change into, and do not need to wash their hair beforehand. Some makeup may come off during facial or scalp massage, so guests may bring cosmetics to reapply.

The head spa menu runs from a 30-minute treatment called Lovely Love up to a 60-minute Blissful Balance and a longer Radiant Harmony package, with steps that include scalp analysis, custom shampoos, facial acupressure and lifting massage, herbal and steam elements, and a basic blow dry in several packages. Add-ons include extra facial or scalp massage time, a scalp microscope, an herbal detox foot soak, and hand and feet paraffin.

The salon says its treatments may help hair health, scalp health, relaxation, mood and circulation. It was designed with professionals dealing with workplace stress and burnout in mind, as well as mothers who need a few hours of relaxation and self-care. Head spa treatments are not offered to guests with open scalp wounds or an active scalp infection, and tape-in extensions, braids or dreadlocks must be removed before an appointment.
