The studio was founded by Alena Sysoev, and its founders began their hair care work in Russia, where they took courses and earned certifications before moving to the United States and setting up in San Diego.

The salon works with its own brand, Slavic Gold Hair, made from Russian human hair that it describes as 100% virgin and all natural, fine and lightweight. A factory in Russia produces the salon's own hand-tied tapes, wefts, clip-ins and wigs. Straight, wavy and curly textures are kept in stock for same-day installation, or can be custom matched.

A visit usually begins with a free consultation of 15 to 30 minutes, held in person or by video through FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet or Telegram. The consultation covers an examination of the hair, a look at the capsules and hair, choosing the amount and quality, and aftercare advice. The salon says it works with thick, thin, wavy and curly hair, as well as sparse or very short hair. It is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Education is a central part of the business. The salon has taken master classes and specialization courses in San Diego and offers an authorized Master's Class for people who want to become hair extension specialists. Classes include a one-day K-Tips and tape-in master class at $1,500, a two-day course with a live model on day two at $2,999, a one-day hand-tied weft class at $1,500, and a four-hour advanced V-light course at $600, which does not include hair extensions. Class materials include a hot micro installation tool, combs, clips, dividing circles, removal solution and Russian hair. The salon says no cosmetology license is needed to attend, that students receive a certificate, and that graduates can earn between $5,000 and $20,000 a month.

Built around one brand of fine, lightweight Russian hair and the K-Tips method, which the salon calls the most delicate installation option. The team says education is ongoing and keeps taking the latest courses.
