The salon started out as a small shop in Fairport, New York, opened in 1985 by Scott and Helen Miller. It later relocated to a 15,000 square-foot building at 3340 Monroe Avenue in Pittsford, where the salon, spa and retail store all operate under one roof. The salon describes itself as a beauty resource for western New York. According to the salon, it recently received the Business Person of the Year award from the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

Hair services run from haircuts and color to silk press and hair treatments, and braids are booked only after a personalized consultation. The spa side offers facials, peels and microcurrent treatments, along with Swedish, deep tissue and prenatal massage. Several services are priced by consultation, including Bellami hair extensions, lash extensions, microblading, creative or corrective color and bridal styling.

Laser hair removal uses the Splendor X system, which the business says is the only provider of that system in Rochester. Treatments begin with a series of six sessions, after which the provider assesses whether more are needed, and areas above the cheekbone are generally avoided for safety reasons. A complimentary consultation comes first, and the business describes its laser system as permanent hair reduction, measured as long-term reduction in regrowth at 6, 9 and 12 months. Treatments can be paid over time through Affirm.

Education is central to how the business works. Co-director Alex oversees education and works closely with clients and the leadership team, and staff take part in hands-on tutorials with industry leaders. The Protégé Apprentice Program lets students perform services under educator supervision on live models, with cut and style sessions of about two hours and color sessions of about four hours. The site states that all Protégés are professionally licensed. Models must be 16 or older, and the program currently accepts hair color models only.

Clients can book by phone, text, email or the online booking page, but color appointments cannot be booked online and must be arranged by calling. Clients are asked to give at least 24 hours notice to change or cancel, and a late cancellation is charged half the scheduled service while a no-show is charged the full amount. Standing appointments let clients schedule recurring services across the year, running April through March. Gift cards never expire and can be used for any service or retail purchase.

The salon describes its approach as consistent quality in the craft, with education and mentorship at its core and deep care for both clients and staff.
