Scissor LA has two locations: a Los Angeles studio on Hyperion Ave and a Brooklyn location on Johnson Ave. The founder and owner, Claire, leads a team of five that includes a manager, senior stylists, a haircut specialist and a senior barber.
Each stylist takes bookings through their own booking link, so clients can choose who they want to see. Meg's bookings are made under the name Cherry Fox Hair at the Hyperion location.
The Hyperion location is open Monday, Tuesday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Wednesday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The menu covers a wide range: cuts for every length and texture, from short barber work to long layers and shags, color from global blonde to copper and lived-in highlights, perms and keratin smoothing, customized extensions after a consultation, and a scalp detox with exfoliation.
The team works in a relaxed, low-pressure way, with each stylist shaping results around the individual client.
