Electrolysis here is a permanent method: a fine probe is placed into each follicle and the electrologist uses one of three methods. Thermolysis uses heat from alternating current and takes under a second per hair. Galvanic uses direct current, which forms lye in the follicle to destroy the tissue that grows hair. The blend method combines heat and chemical action, takes about 8 to 12 seconds per hair, and is mostly used for stubborn or distorted follicles. The electrologist controls the current and monitors comfort. Most people feel pinching or temporary heat. Because hair grows in stages, several follow-up appointments are needed, usually 15 to 60 minutes each. Cleaning the area and catapharesis are included within the time booked. Ingrown hairs can also be treated, and the skin may look worse at first before it heals.

Before treatment, new clients have a free consultation that covers an overview of hair growth, the cost of services, an individual treatment plan for their type of unwanted hair, an initial progress photo, and aftercare instructions or products. Progress is documented with photos during treatment. Course length varies by person, typically 8 to 14 months, and total treatment time can range from a minimum of 8 months to 2 years. Legs take longer because the area is larger, and coarse, red, white or gray hair needs additional treatments. The salon says most clients who follow the plan finish or nearly finish within about 22 months, when no contraindications, hormonal issues or hair-growth medications apply. New clients are usually accepted within seven business days.

Treatment rooms are described as private and comfortable, and one room has a vibrating chair. Movies or music are available during genital treatments. Sunday appointments are offered but must be prepaid. CareCredit is accepted. The practice provides documentation to help clients seek insurance precertification or reimbursement, including for electrolysis at surgical graft sites, and it offers electrolysis preparation for gender affirming surgeries.
