Scandalous Artistry

Scandalous Artistry sits in downtown Orlando and works as an independent rental salon. Each artist runs their own book and sets their own hours. The salon describes itself as a fun place to spend time in the chair.

The salon presents itself as a creative room where clients can be as expressive or as understated as they like. Services cover hair color, hair extensions, haircuts, and makeup with eyebrow shaping. New color clients start with a free consultation, booked through the Booksy app or Booksy.com. Consultations include a test strand and a look at hair history and options, and they cannot be booked on the same day as a color service. A haircut does not require a consultation.

Clients are asked to arrive with clean hair, though product can be used to dirty hair if needed. Bringing an extra shirt, ideally a solid color, is a good idea since some services can be messy. Clients may bring one guest and their own food and drinks, and the salon keeps drinks and snacks available. Children may only attend if they are getting a service.

Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice or a fee is charged through the Booksy app. Consultations are free, but a $25 fee applies to a no-show or a cancellation within 24 hours. Arriving more than 15 minutes late results in a 50% cancellation fee, and clients who often move or cancel appointments may be removed from booking. Clients earn two points on their reward card for booking ahead.

Payment is accepted by cash, card, Apple Pay, Venmo, and Zelle; Afterpay is no longer accepted. Only street parking is offered. Parking on Lexington costs about $1 for three hours, and Concord is an alternative. The salon can be reached by text at 352-217-9351.
