The practice traces back to Dr. Frank M. Kamer, who began practicing in Beverly Hills in 1971. When Kamer retired, the practice passed to Dr. David Sayah, and the Institute now operates from its Bedford Drive office. Its surgery center in Beverly Hills has been running since 2002 and is described by the business as fully accredited, with safety protocols maintained since then.

The institute calls itself a boutique practice that limits patient volume so each person receives individual attention. Centre Épiderme is the medical spa within the Beverly Hills offices, with private treatment rooms at the rear of the facility. Its menu includes body sculpting, facials, hyperhidrosis treatment, laser hair removal, radiofrequency rejuvenation, Restylane, Ultherapy and other skin treatments. Its long-term medical skincare plan for the whole body, the Épiderme Plan, is adjusted regularly over time, and the spa says it is the only clinic offering a complete plan of this kind.

Patients come from Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, other parts of the United States and abroad. Virtual consultations by secure video are available, including for people outside Los Angeles. Out-of-town patients can arrange flights, ground transport, hotels and local navigation through concierge help, and after surgery the practice offers private nursing care at a hotel, follow-up planning and virtual check-ins. Staff speak English, French, Spanish, Farsi and Italian, and professional parking is available at the office.
