Salt Wax Society has two locations. The Holladay studio is at 4227 Highland Drive Suite 1, Holladay, UT 84124, phone 801-277-3534. The downtown studio is at 464 S 600 E Unit C, Salt Lake City, UT 84102, phone 385-528-0798. It has its own parking lot and sits roughly a five-minute walk from the TRAX Red Line Trolley Station. Both studios share the same hours: Monday and Tuesday 9am to 7pm, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 8pm, Friday 9am to 6pm, and Saturday 9am to 4pm. The studio serves Salt Lake City and nearby communities, including Draper, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan, Midvale, Cottonwood Heights, Holladay, Murray, Taylorsville, Millcreek, Sugar House, West Valley, South Salt Lake and Alta Vista.
The owner personally selects each waxer and trains them in-house through an intensive boot camp. Every waxing team member also completes further in-house training on sanitation, hygiene, waxing technique and client comfort. Sanitation routines include never double dipping, wearing gloves for the entire service, checking for contraindications, using hygiene wipes and applying hospital-grade disinfectant.
The signature Brazilian wax uses a proprietary method that blends strip wax and hard wax, takes about 15 minutes, and finishes with Bushbalm oil and a hydrojelly mask. Brazilian waxing removes hair from the front and between the legs and cheeks, with either full removal or a strip or triangle left. Clients are asked to have hair about a quarter inch long beforehand and not to shave first, and Brazilian waxing is generally recommended every 3 to 5 weeks.
Memberships are the studio's central offer. Plans range from a mini membership to unlimited full body options for women and men, and members receive 10% off services and retail, a birthday gift and member-only promotions. Memberships are billed on the first of each month with no sign-up or cancellation fees, cancellation needs at least 5 business days notice before the next billing date, and unused services roll over month to month while the membership is active. Series packages of 3, 6 or 12 services are also available and do not expire.
Booking has a few set policies. A credit card is required to hold a first appointment, and deposits apply to some services such as brow lamination and lash lifts. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, and no-shows, are charged 50% of the regular price. Clients arriving more than 5 minutes late may not have time for the full service. Walk-ins are welcome at times, though booking ahead is recommended. Friends may visit, but only clients receiving services enter the private wax rooms. Well-behaved children may attend; babies and young children who cry should stay with a sitter. Only one Groupon per client per year is accepted.
Built on a proprietary Brazilian waxing method that combines strip and hard wax, with the stated belief that self care is for everyone and all bodies are welcome.
