The salon says it wants clients to feel comfortable being themselves while they are there and to leave feeling confident. Stylists are placed in a five-tier system, and pricing follows those tiers. Stylists keep learning through continuing education, hair shows and classes, and the blonding stylists have trained in classes and workshops across the country. Many stylists hold more than one extension certification.

Before booking, a free consultation reviews the look you want, how many visits it will take, what it will cost and what upkeep it needs. Many services are sold as packages that bundle the color process, gloss, blow out and style, with approximate durations listed for each. The salon says it uses luxury color lines and keeps its services current.

Extensions take more planning. Each extension package needs a complimentary consultation first and a nonrefundable deposit to reserve the installation. A package includes the hair needed for the rows and density you choose, preparation, the install, cutting and blending, a finished style and a take-home care kit with full-size aftercare products. Tape-in and weft methods are offered, along with K-tips and clip-ins. Extensions usually need maintenance every six to ten weeks, depending on the method. The salon keeps a wide range of lengths, textures and shades in stock, so many guests can add extensions the same day.

Other policies: balayage, creative and corrective color, Brazilian Blowout and services of three hours or longer require a nonrefundable $75 deposit. Cancelling with 48 hours' notice carries no charge, while cancelling with 24 hours or less costs half the booked service, and a no-call no-show is invoiced at the full service price. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with Sunday and Monday closed. The salon may close during winter weather and will reschedule weather-cancelled appointments. Gift cards are sold on the website, and an annual subscription offers monthly root touch-ups at a discounted monthly price.
