Salon Southwest is on the second level of its Alexandria building, above Truist Bank. The menu covers children's, men's and women's haircuts, shampoo and style services, root touch-ups, dimensional color, balayage, color correction, body waves and Brazilian Blowout smoothing.

About

Color is a central focus. Custom color services include a gloss and a blow dry, and foil placement depends on the service: partial foils begin at the crown, while full foils run from hairline to nape. An extra $20 applies for each additional bowl of color or lightener, since thicker hair can need more product. Color correction requires a consultation and a $250 deposit that is applied to the service.

New clients can book a free 20-minute consultation, in person or virtually, to talk through hair history and goals. Appointments are secured with a $100 non-refundable retainer that goes toward the service. Cancelling or rescheduling with less than 24 hours notice, including for illness, results in a 50% charge applied to a later booking, and a no-call, no-show without notice carries a fee of 50% of the service. Changing a booked service within 24 hours costs half the original price. Anyone feeling unwell is asked to reschedule rather than come in.

Custom color is planned around each client's history and goals, beginning with a consultation for new clients.
