Salon Seven is an Aveda Concept Salon in the Nickel Plate District of downtown Fishers. Ashley Lease created the salon, which has focused on color, precision cuts and custom waxing since 2015. Guests can find it at 8594 E. 116th St, Suite 50, a few doors down from the 116th Street entrance inside The Depot at Nickel Plate.

Blonding is one of the main services. Options include touch-ups for roots and gray coverage, partial highlights that brighten the top and sides, and full highlights that lighten the whole head, including underneath. Balayage is hand-painted for a natural glow, and foilyage uses foil to lift the color a little brighter than balayage. Pricing starts at $80 for a touch-up, $125 for a partial highlight, $160 for a full highlight, $175 for balayage or foilyage and $100 for all-over color, with final pricing depending on the service.

There are three haircut services. The Refresh Cut is a 30-minute visit for short styles, pixies and clipper cuts that need light shaping, starting at $25. The Signature Cut is a 45-minute cut with a finished style for guests 10 and older, starting at $40, and the salon describes it as its most popular cut. The Transformative Cut is a one-hour service for big changes such as going shorter, adding major layers or trying a new style, starting at $60.

New guests choose a service, then a stylist, then book online. Clients who already know the service they want can book online; otherwise they can call (317) 537-2508 to talk through options or schedule. Services not listed online can also be discussed by phone. Stylists begin with a consultation to learn about hair goals and wants before working. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before an appointment are charged 50% of the booked service, rising to 100% from October 31 through December 31.

Salon Seven uses a full line of Aveda products, which the salon describes as eco-conscious, cruelty-free, plant-powered, sustainably sourced and free from synthetic ingredients. The team says it values continuing education and keeping up with new developments in hair. Hours run Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 8 PM, Friday 9 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 2 PM. Parking is free on the street and in the garage a few steps away, with a breezeway leading to 116th Street.
