Salon One 50 occupies about 6,000 square feet in Alamo and describes its space as comfortable and welcoming. According to the salon, it is the premier salon in the Diablo Valley. Services cover hair, skin, waxing, spray tanning and nails, for both women and men.

Hair services include men's and women's design and cut, each including blow and style, plus shampoo and blow-dry, root touch-ups, partial and full highlights, balayage painted freehand rather than with foils, ombre color, and keratin smoothing that starts at $300 and lasts about 10 to 12 weeks. The smoothing does not guarantee fully straight hair and can relax between 50 and 90 percent of the curl, depending on hair texture. Tape-in extensions are made from 100% human hair with no glue, beads, wefts, bradding or weaving. Each extension client starts with a consultation, and pricing depends on length, color and density. Tape-ins need maintenance every one and a half to two months, last about eight to ten weeks, and can be re-applied up to three times at a flat rate.

Bridal and formal styling includes shampoo, condition and blow-dry starting at $95, up-dos and formal styles, an up-do for the bride, a wedding trial, and on-site hairstyling on the wedding day. Those are priced on consultation, except the shampoo package. The bride's up-do is a 90-minute appointment.

Skin services include a custom facial at $100 for one hour, an advanced facial at $140 for 90 minutes, a European facial at $160 for 90 minutes and a one-hour back treatment at $100. Add-on enhancements are microdermabrasion at $50, derma sweep at $30, Revita Pen Pro at $50 and an alkaline treatment at $80. Chemical peels run 30 minutes at $75 for the Plump, Boost, Lighten and Hydrate options. The light peel with ASAP enzyme, the Infusion and the Quick Fix are 60-minute peels at $110 each. A multi-level peel is available on request.

Three private nail spas each have a manicurist working in a personal style. Service hours run Monday through Saturday from 9:00am until the last appointment is finished, and Sunday hours are available by asking the salon. The front desk takes calls Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 to 6:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 3:00, with no calls answered from 1:00 to 2:00. Pricing is subject to change.

Treatments are matched to the individual: the Kerastase conditioning treatment is chosen after a hair diagnosis, the mask formula is selected by hair type, and extension plans follow a consultation.
