The salon's story begins in Senegal and spans 15 years of learning and experience. The founder's mother was skilled in hairstyling, and that background inspired the founder to open the Los Angeles location. The salon describes its focus as education on hair care and environmental awareness.

The menu covers knotless, box, micro and Senegalese braids, cornrows in several forms, crochet braids and faux locs, locs and loc maintenance, twists, and hair washing with detangling. Many braid services are priced after the client sends a style photo by text, and most braids are done with hair the client supplies, though some extension hair can be bought from the salon for an extra fee. Detangling, washing and blow drying are not included in braid and cornrow appointments and are booked separately. Clients are asked to arrive with hair washed and blow-dried unless they book a wash and blow dry.

A private suite can be booked for $400, an afterhours fee of $250 applies, and a curly hair class for parents is listed at no charge.
