Salon Citrine was founded in Irvington by Lily Gleitsman, Miriam Zhukov and Andra Kramer, who had worked together at salons before opening it. The owners describe Irvington as a neighborhood with a long history and a strong sense of community, and the salon presents itself as an inclusive space for every client.

About

The salon's stated philosophy is that beauty belongs to everyone, with looks shaped around each person rather than one standard of beauty. Its services range from precise haircuts and dimensional color to Korean-inspired skincare, advanced peels and makeup.

Appointments are booked online through GlossGenius, and full-service appointments include a consultation. Consultation fees go toward the first full service when booked, and color consultations are required before large transformations. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM, with the salon closed Sunday and Monday. Cancellations made within 48 hours are charged 50 percent of the service and no-shows are charged in full, though fees may be waived if the appointment is rescheduled within the same week.

Gift cards are sold in amounts of $50, $75, $100 or $200, or in a custom amount, and gift card sales are final.

The salon aims for looks that reflect each person, with consultations used to plan larger changes before booking.

The salon describes its space as warm, welcoming, affirming and a little unconventional, set in historic Irvington.
