Salon 99 has been a family-run hair salon in Salem, New Hampshire, for roughly 45 years. The salon says it has served the local community that long, and it is located on South Broadway in a building that was once a gas station, later converted into salon and office space.

The name dates back to the salon's earlier days, when the previous owner chose it from the 99 South Broadway address. Rose and Mario bought the business in 1977. Mario retired in 2019 after 43 years working at the salon, and Rose continues to run it alongside stylist Kim Raadmae.

The menu is broad: women's cuts and blow-dries, men's cuts, children's haircuts (including a first haircut certificate), color work with Matrix, SOCOLOR and COLORINSIDER lines, and highlights done either with COLORGRAPHICS lift and tone or V-Lights lightening. Perms use the Matrix Opti.collection, and straightening uses a Paul Mitchell chemical relaxer for a single section or the whole head. Waxing covers eyebrows, lip and chin, and bridal and special occasion styling is available, including bridal party and group services.

Visits are relaxed: the salon offers free coffee, tea and water, WiFi, and ample parking. Walk-ins are welcome, or clients can book by phone or email. Prices are not published and are available on request. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount for services or retail products, and custom gift baskets are available.
