Salon 4862 has been at its downtown White Bear Lake address on Banning Avenue for about two decades, and the business says it has been operating for 37 years. Longtime owner Franny retired, and Sara Grace bought the salon in 2023 after returning to White Bear Lake. The salon describes itself as a family salon for clients across the Twin Cities area.

Clients can book with a team whose specialties vary. Sara Grace focuses on precision, wash-and-wear haircuts and often cuts the whole family's hair in one visit. Char Nelson specializes in razor haircuts and pairs color with a cut. Lana Weber offers haircuts, color and perms. Nellie Collova works on men's haircuts, women's short styles, extensions and a wide range of color techniques.

The salon has a dedicated area for children, which suits families who want everyone seen in one trip.

Every Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm, the salon hosts a Lynked by Alyssa permanent jewelry pop-up. Alyssa also offers permanent jewelry for private parties and holds studio appointments in Forest Lake and White Bear Lake.

The salon offers chair rentals to stylists in downtown White Bear Lake, so the team includes independent professionals alongside the owner.
