Sarai founded Rosewater to offer a different kind of haircare visit, built around the scalp and the experience of the session itself. The head spa runs from a private suite with a single bed, so each client is attended to alone for the length of the appointment.

The Signature 60-Min session is listed at $158 and runs about 75 minutes. It begins with a scalp analysis under a microscope and moves through an aromatherapy eye mask, warm oil massage, herbal clay exfoliation, a double cleanse, deep conditioning, gentle detangling, a botanical rinse and a warm towel dry. The Signature 90-Min session is listed at $216 for about 105 minutes, with the same steps and more time for treatment and massage. The Luxe 2-hr session is listed at $274 for about 135 minutes and adds a customized 30-minute facial with warm towels, a gentle cleanse, papaya enzyme exfoliation, cucumber toner and the HydroGlow Rose Jelly Mask, along with a Milbon deep conditioning treatment for the lengths of the hair. Complimentary quick-dry is included with the Signature and Luxe sessions.

Groups are limited to two people, and while one person is served the other can wait in an armchair in the suite. Guests are asked to arrive with dry hair, ideally without heavy styling products or jewelry, to eat lightly beforehand, to limit stimulants such as coffee where possible, and to arrive early. Clients with hair extensions are advised not to book a session while the extensions are in, since they may be damaged, and many book between extension appointments.

Products come from the Oway, Innersense and Milbon professional lines. The business describes its products as free of synthetic fragrance and harsh chemicals and based on botanicals and essential oils. It describes itself as a 5.0 rated head spa and says the head spa activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which it says can help ease anxiety, improve sleep and reduce mental tension.

Gift cards are available, and memberships and session packs can be purchased for regular visits.
