Booking starts with a photo of your brows or lips, which lets the studio judge whether you are a good candidate before scheduling. Clients need brows that have never had permanent makeup. Free online consultations are available for questions about services, techniques and training. On the day, an ombre brow appointment begins with a consultation and numbing cream, then the shape is mapped with a brow pencil and tattooed layer by layer. The whole visit runs about two to three hours.
Touch-ups are scheduled by how long it has been since the original procedure, and are only offered for brows or lips Ruby did herself. Work done by other artists can be covered up, but not every case can be, so those clients submit an inquiry for an assessment first.
The studio also runs Ombré Brow Training, a four-day course with a two-week practice break that covers fundamentals, mapping, machine control and live model work. It is offered as a small group of no more than two students or as private one-to-one training, and includes a starter kit with a wireless machine, pigments and numbing creams. Out-of-town students can attend an in-person four-day intensive.
