Reliance Primary & Urgent Care was started as an intentional counterweight to big corporate medical groups. It is owned by its physician and operates independently. Its patients come from Jacksonville itself and nearby areas, including Fernandina Beach, St. Augustine, Fleming Island, Orange Park, Ponte Vedra Beach, Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach, as well as parts of Duval, Nassau, St. Johns and Clay counties.

The practice's stated mission centers on compassionate care and open communication, so patients can reach their physician and know what a visit will cost before they commit. Visits are unhurried, and treatment plans are tailored to each patient. Clinical care covers primary care, urgent care for same-day needs such as colds, minor injuries and infections, preventive care, chronic disease management, physicals, cancer screening support, EKGs performed in-house, and telemedicine video visits.

Paying out of pocket is a core part of how this practice operates. The first primary care appointment costs $150 and follow-up visits cost $100, settled when the visit takes place, and no insurance is required for that route. Major medical plans are also accepted, though callers should check with their plan whether the practice is in network. CareCredit financing is available for qualifying services. Same-day urgent care is offered on a self-pay basis, and the price is discussed before any treatment starts.
