Rarity Salon

Rarity Salon opened in April 2015 with five chairs and later grew to a twelve-chair salon. The founders set it up to serve women of any ethnicity, hair texture or color, and the team later developed a hair extensions specialty after seeing many women who wanted more length and thickness.

The salon moved to a team-based model in late 2018 so clients could get better availability and consistent service with any stylist. It was rebranded as Rarity Salon in June 2019 and says it invests in education and development to keep its services current.

A visit to extensions starts with an application and a follow-up consultation, where the hair, length and number of rows are set and a custom price quote is given. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures the hair and install appointment. Extensions are custom colored and blended to match each client's hair, and extensions need to be moved up every 6-8 weeks. Color and cut services on the client's own hair are charged separately from extensions.

The salon sells R+Co and Kevin Murphy products online and recommends its own products for extension maintenance. Hair extension home care guidelines are available on its website.

Each client's hair is assessed to choose the extension method, and methods can be combined, with the salon investing in ongoing education to keep its work current.
