Queens & Kings Braiding

Queens & Kings Braiding was founded in Houston in 2018 and operates as both a hair salon and a braiding training center. Services are booked by appointment only. The studio is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm at its suite on East Freeway.

Loc maintenance includes retwisting at the roots of existing locs.

According to the salon, knotless braids are installed with a technique that reduces scalp tension and gives a more natural look than traditional box braids, and it describes them as an overall safer option. Specialists tailor each appointment to the client's hair concerns, and the business says it focuses on the client's experience and satisfaction. Training is a separate part of the business. Private one-on-one classes come in two lengths: a two-hour session for $197 and a six-hour session for $597, both with supplies included. Techniques taught include box braids, knotless braids, cornrows, feed-in braids and crochet braids. An online one-hour class for $97 covers cornrows. Each class requires a $50 deposit to hold a spot, and class payments are non-refundable or transferable.
