Purotu is the name of the salon, which the business says means beautiful in Tahitian. It sits in the middle of Frenchtown, a river town, and the space is described as open yet intimate. Shops and restaurants are next door on Bridge Street.

About

Hair design is the largest part of the menu, with women's and men's cuts that include a wash and blow dry, color and highlighting, balayage, perms, updos, and keratin treatments. Haircut prices stay the same if a blow dry isn't wanted, though cuts, styling, and treatments may carry an extra charge for hair that is thick or long. Color and highlight services don't include a cut or blow dry, and extra color is billed by the ounce. Consultations with a hair artist are free and take about 15 minutes, and HALO extensions need a complimentary consultation first.

Skin care centers on Eminence Organic Skin Care, which the salon chooses for its facials and some head spa and facial services. Facials are selected after a skin assessment. The Purotu Signature Ritual is the base facial, and several named facials build on it with lymphatic drainage, microcurrent, radio frequency, galvanic current, high frequency, or LED light. Facial upgrades such as gua sha, cupping, and dermaplaning can be added when time allows, though they aren't available with any Hydrafacial. Hydrafacial services, including body treatments, use the business's patented Vortex-Fusion technology, which the business says is backed by more than 175 patents.

The head spa menu is built on Davines NaturalTech products. The Signature Head Spa and the longer Ultimate Head Spa include scalp analysis, a warm oil massage, steam, red light therapy, and a deep conditioning step, while the Scalp Refresh is a shorter maintenance visit. Head spa treatments are not offered for certain scalp conditions, recent chemical services, recent head or neck surgery, or some medical conditions unless a clearance is given.

Waxing covers the face, body, and bikini area, and the nail menu includes spa manicures and pedicures, gel manicures, gel removal, and nail art on gel manicures. Lash lifts and tints are offered, and makeup and bridal services can be done in the salon or at an offsite location, with trials available in the salon. The salon is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from morning to evening, Wednesday for a shorter day, and Saturday morning to afternoon, and it is closed Sunday and Monday. Gift cards are available online in set amounts or a custom amount.
