About

Pure Grooming is located at 12222 Poway Road, Suite 20, in Poway. By its own account it has served local pets and owners for over five years, and it says its staff have worked in the pet industry for more than 15 years.

Baths and grooming are done with an all-natural, hypoallergenic shampoo. According to the shop, it relies on eco-friendly, renewable products. The business's stated goal is to supply animal clients with goods and care of good quality that are also gentle on the environment.

Salon services are by appointment only. Self-wash and quick services are available by walk-in. Salon hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday. The self-wash area uses hydraulic tubs, so owners do not need to lift or bend their pets into the tub. Each self-wash includes up to 30 minutes of tub time with shampoo, a shammy and a dryer. Messages sent through the website contact form are for information only and do not book appointments, and an agreement and expectations form is available as a PDF on the policies page.

Pure Grooming also runs a few programs. First-time customers can choose a free upgrade on a full service groom, which must be mentioned at booking. A referral program gives 10 percent off the next bath or grooming service for referring customers and for new customers who book with referral information. A loyalty program gives 10 percent off grooming services for clients who book a recurring or pre-booked appointment and complete it. A fundraising program lets groups such as rescues, school teams, church groups and non-profits work the self-wash area, with the business donating 50 percent of the self-wash sales those groups generate. The business works with several community partners, including local rescues, a humane society, a flyball team, a poodle group, a veterinary clinic, a food company and a boarding and daycare.

Focuses on high quality, environmentally friendly products and services for pets, using natural shampoo and renewable products.
