Pristine Locks

Pristine Locks is a loc studio in Sandy Springs, Georgia, built around the Signature Locs method. Its founder, Prisca Achola, moved into Signature Locs from earlier work with Sisterlocks.

Every new client begins with a consultation, which looks at hair goals, lifestyle, hair texture, density and the overall condition of the hair. The locking itself, called establishment, often takes ten to twenty hours or more, depending on length, density and condition.

Signature Locs is a precision-based method that uses no chemicals, heat or added products. The studio says its technique is gentle and avoids excessive tightening or abrasive handling. Relaxed hair can be locked, but relaxed ends do not lock, so trimming them is recommended.

After establishment, a follow-up plan sets out ongoing maintenance. Retightening as the hair grows is described as simple and less costly over time. Regular check-ins are recommended, and clients who have been established can take a class to learn to maintain their own locs. Locs can be styled by curling, braiding, twisting, roller setting or wearing a ponytail. Removal is possible, though the studio describes it as very tedious.
