About

The academy holds a license from the Florida Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education and is registered with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The Florida Department of Health has given approval to its training in electrolysis and laser. According to the school, the programs were shaped with feedback from spa owners to prepare students for employment, and a shorter curriculum allows students to complete the program more quickly.

The facial and skincare specialist program runs about 2.5 months and 220 state-approved hours. It covers skin science, histology, facial anatomy, cosmetic ingredients, massage, manual facials, sanitation, waxing, brow and lash tinting, and aesthetic equipment, along with Florida laws and the business rules for opening an esthetic or medical spa. Graduates are prepared for the Florida Licensed Facial Specialist (Esthetician) license. The program includes a required 4-hour HIV/AIDS course, with testing done in-house rather than through an outside exam.

The electrolysis and laser technician program is 320 hours over about 4 months: 120 hours of classroom theory and 200 hours of supervised clinical training. Clinical work uses the Candela GentleMax (Alexandrite and YAG) under a licensed electrologist trainer, on real clients. Students prepare for the IBECK state exam and then apply to the Florida Department of Health. The nail technician program takes about 2 months and covers nail structure, sanitation, product chemistry, Florida rules, manicures, pedicures, enhancements and nail art, with all required testing done at the academy.

Permanent makeup training covers powder brows, lip blush and eyeliner in 2-day courses, with small classes where students practice on real models. The beginners course is listed at $2,200, and the advanced course, which covers advanced brow shaping, color correction, advanced eyeliner shading and combo or hybrid brows, is priced on request. Both courses come with a certificate of completion, and flexible payment plans are available. Florida regulates permanent makeup as tattooing, so the program notes that a Tattoo Artist License from the Department of Health is required. Classic and Volume lash certifications are short 2-day, hands-on courses for licensed professionals who already hold a Florida Facial Specialist, Cosmetologist or Full Specialist license; the lash courses add to that license and do not replace it.

Prospective students can book a free school tour, meet instructors, look over the schedule and talk through payment plans. Classes are offered full-time in the morning or evening, or as an evening hybrid where theory is completed online and students attend on site two days a week. The school is open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, new students start every week, and the admissions team responds to information requests within 24 hours. Instructors speak English and Spanish, and classes can be taught in Spanish. Financing is available: the facial program is $500 down and $250 a week, the electrolysis and laser program is $900 down and $375 a week, and the nail program is $500 down and $375 a week, with 0% interest for qualifying students. Students can also ask about job placement at Pristine Spas, which the school says it owns in Lake Nona, St. Cloud and Melbourne-Viera, and at partner spas. The academy also publishes Own It guides on starting and running beauty businesses in Florida.

Small classes with one-on-one guidance and plenty of hands-on practice, using real models in the classroom.
