Founded in 2003, PRINKhair Studio is an urban hair studio run by Rachel Hunsaker-Glenn as an independent stylist. The space is semi-private and set up so that each client works with one stylist at a time, and it has a HEPA filtration air purifier.

The studio's stated mission is to keep building skills and expertise so that each guest's hair looks its best. Attention stays on hair and current trends, and professional products are chosen as trends change. The studio also states that it aims to provide safety and confidentiality so clients can talk openly about their hair needs.

Clients book online. Some open times may not appear on the booking site, so clients can text or email to ask. Before a service, free 15-minute consultations are available either in person at the studio or by video over FaceTime or Zoom. On arrival, clients text or call and wait outside until the stylist lets them in, as the door is locked for security.

The salon states it was voted Best Hair Color in Chicago by InStyle and Chicago Magazine. It describes itself as promoting safety, inclusion and good listening, and it offers color and cut for all genders. Bridal and multiple-person styling, including on-site, requires an inquiry directly with the salon.
