Princeton Salon and Spa operates from a Gainesville location on Washington Street and a Buford location on South Bogan Road. The Gainesville salon opened in February 2005 on the site of the former Grand Princeton Hotel, a well-known luxury hotel in the late 1800s and early 1900s that closed after a 1936 tornado damaged much of the town.

The salon says its goals for a visit are to help clients relax, restore and rejuvenate. It describes its experience as luxury with a European-style feel. Clients can bring a photo of the look they want, and stylists work from that photo during the appointment.

Hair services span cuts and styling for every age and gender, color from all-over and single-process color through highlights, balayage, babylights, ombre, foilayage and fashion shades, and keratin smoothing. Hair extensions are made from 100% human remy hair in a range of colors, textures and lengths from 12 to 24 inches, and are priced by volume, length or both. Hand-tied extensions begin with a $50 consultation, and that deposit is applied to the service.

Pricing for color and cuts rises with stylist level, from new talent up to master level 4, and the salon ranks its stylists as new talent, senior and master levels 1 through 5. Spa service availability varies by location, so clients should check with their preferred Princeton location before booking.

Bridal work is a large part of the salon. In-salon and on-site packages cover brides, bridesmaids, wedding guests and flower girls, and include the wedding day and a consultation. Bridal bookings need a deposit of half the package amount and a signed agreement with a Princeton team member. On-site packages have an $800 minimum plus accommodations and a $50 travel fee. Bridal cancellations are refunded if made 30 days or more before the wedding day.

The salon follows Aveda techniques and products and states that its staff train regularly on current hair and beauty products. Stylists work from a photo of the desired look brought in by the client.

The salon describes its setting as luxurious with a European-style touch.
