Posh Tecknique

Posh Tecknique is run by its owner, Teckela (Teck), from a suite inside Envogue Salon & Suites. The focus is on the health of clients' hair, with silk presses and smoothing treatments as the core work.

Every visit includes a shampoo, because Virginia sanitation rules require it. Clients who arrive already shampooed cannot be accepted, and add-on hair treatments need a shampoo service booked first. Consultations are done in person.

The Ultimate Silk & Glow System is the featured service and takes about three hours. It combines a cleansing shampoo, a chemical-free smoothing treatment, a haircut, an anti-humidity spray, a leave-in conditioner, a silkening serum, and thermal styling. The salon describes the smoothing treatment as reducing frizz for seven to twelve weeks.

Service times are estimates that depend on hair length and density, so clients should arrive no more than five minutes early. Arriving more than fifteen minutes late may mean a reschedule. Cancellations or changes made less than 24 hours ahead may forfeit the deposit, and one courtesy reschedule is allowed per deposit.

Focuses on the health of clients' hair, and damaged hair and split ends may need to be removed during a service.
