The Forma Cut is the salon's signature haircut, developed by Annette Norwood to shape curls around the face. A visit starts with a consultation, followed by a dry cut done with minimal tension, then washing, styling, drying and education on caring for hair at home. Men's curly cuts and children's haircuts also begin with a consultation, and curl coaching includes a detox treatment.

For color, the salon offers grey coverage touch ups, semi-permanent all-over color with glossing, and Pintura, a highlighting method in which each highlight is painted by hand without foils.

Products are silicone, sulfate and paraffin free, and the choice is discussed at the consultation based on the client's hair and texture. The salon states its products work with curl types from 2A to 4C. Clients arrive with hair down, dry and detangled. One- to two-day-old hair is welcome, but hair with shea, oils or butters carries an up-charge. Appointments need 24 hours notice to cancel, and no-shows or last-minute cancellations are charged the full service. Haircuts typically last six months to a year.

Within two weeks of an appointment, clients can ask for adjustments, which are free. Under the Posh Promise, clients who buy the recommended products, follow the wash system and are still unhappy can request a free restyling within two weeks. Payment over time is offered for orders of $50 or more. Forma Academy trains licensed cosmetologists, stylists and barbers in textured hair and curl design, with no prior curly hair experience required, and The Round is a one-day in-person class covering round and classic bob shapes. The salon is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and its press page lists features in Quintessential magazine, Barrington Scoop, WGN and Daytime Chicago.
