The studio was founded by Megan, an aesthetician who co-founded JAM Skin in 2017 before establishing Poppy & Sage after 2020. Every visit begins with a personal consultation and a plan built for that client. Full body waxing is tailored to individual preferences using the studio's chosen wax and techniques, while facials and skincare plans are shaped around each client's needs.

After a treatment, clients receive advice on at-home routines and product recommendations for skincare. The studio says it aims to make the most of both a client's time and their investment in care. Clients are asked to arrive on time: cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead carry a 50% service charge, arriving 10 minutes late may bring a no-show fee or a shortened service, and clients sign a form agreeing to these terms.

Each visit starts with a consultation and a customized treatment plan, followed by guidance on at-home care.
