Polk Apothecary started in 2022 as a rebrand of Pretti P Apothecary, a feminine care brand. Its founder, Morgan, created the skin care line after graduating from esthetician school, aiming it at melanin-rich skin and all skin types, including acne scarring, pigmentation and fine lines.

The products are sorted by skin type, from dry and oily or acne-prone to combination and sensitive skin, and are also grouped into curated bundles by skin type or concern, which the business describes as full skin care systems.
