A visit is designed to feel fun rather than stressful for kids. Children sit in vehicle-themed styling chairs and can watch a movie during their haircut, and treats are offered. The room has whimsical paintings, a wooden train table and a treasure chest.

Appointments are the main way to book, and they can be made or cancelled through the Pigtails & Crewcuts app or by calling the salon. Walk-ins are welcome when there is room for kids, moms or dads. Clients are asked to arrive before their appointment time, since late arrivals may be rescheduled. The salon says stylists work to keep to appointment times, though they sometimes run behind.
