Phenix Salon Suites was founded by Gina Rivera with a family of salon professionals who have more than 85 years of combined industry experience between them. The business describes itself as a boutique salon suite concept, with smaller, intimate properties and spacious private suites. It says it has been named to Entrepreneur's Top 500 Franchise List.

Suites are rented to licensed professionals in beauty, health and wellness. Leases are month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Renters and their clients can use free wireless internet. Laundry facilities with commercial-grade machines are available at no charge, and a staff lounge has a microwave, a sink and places to sit. Clients can park on the premises. Each renter appears in a small online directory that lists their offerings, giving clients another way to get in touch. Hair rooms are equipped with a wash basin, a styling seat, a wheeled cart for tools, a dryer, a shampoo chair and storage. Spa rooms have a spa sink and a cabinet. Nail rooms have ventilation dedicated to that work.
