Peonies Beauté

Peonies Beauté is a San Jose studio that Omi opened. It draws on both Korean and Western skincare methods, and the work centers on personalized facials and treatments matched to each client's skin.

Clients can book an in-person facial or peel, or request a remote product consultation by email. For the email option, clients share their concerns, current routine and photos and receive product recommendations, with no in-person visit needed. Pre-care and post-care guidelines are published for the facial, chemical peel, spicule peel and acne scar reduction.

Appointments can be reserved by texting 408.766.0625. Bookings with Omi need an $80 non-refundable deposit, and other services need a $40 non-refundable deposit; both are due within 24 hours to hold the time and are applied to the service on the day. A deposit can move to a new appointment if the studio is contacted at least 48 hours ahead, and the rebooking must happen within 15 days, with one reschedule per deposit. Deposits are forfeited for cancellations under 48 hours, no-shows and no-calls, and unpaid bookings are released automatically at the deadline. The studio is closed Monday through Wednesday, open Thursday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 12 PM, and open Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The Glow Shop is the studio's skincare shop, with a collection Omi selects by hand. It carries K-Beauty brands such as KrX, Dermagarden, Corthe, COSRX, Isntree, Skin1004, Some By Mi, Beauty of Joseon, Dermaline, Karadium and Neogenesis, along with US brands PCA Skin, Mixi, Skin Script and Trudermal. Listed prices run from about $15.99 to $405, some items are text-to-order, some are out of stock, and skincare orders of $100 or more ship free.

Peonies Beauté also offers an esthetician training program. Courses include Facial Fundamentals 101 for beginners, which includes certification training and is also offered virtually for estheticians outside the local area; Dermaplaning Master, which teaches the studio's signature protocol with a dermaplaning kit and practice blades; and a Korean Spicule Peel course that combines a herbal peel with natural sea spicule crystals. Participants must be licensed cosmetologists or estheticians, or currently enrolled in beauty school. Tuition and enrollment details are available by contacting Omi, and training dates are sent by text.
