Patty Bell Makeup was opened to teach clients how to apply their own makeup. Lessons are private and one-on-one, and the studio is open by appointment only, with no walk-in clients.

Lessons cover basic, beginner, teen, high fashion and mom and me makeup, plus a smokey eye class, a summer/fall makeup application, and skin care consultations. Clients can bring their own makeup, which the studio checks, discards if broken or expired, and cleans brushes for, or they can use makeup kept at the studio. Clients may bring a friend or spouse and may video their lessons. Each lesson ends with a short glamour photo shoot, and the photos and a step-by-step guide are sent by email.

Alongside lessons, the studio takes on makeup for weddings, bridal trial sessions, proms and red carpet occasions. Its past work spans beauty, fashion and advertising campaigns, sports and grooming shoots, celebrity and magazine assignments, movies, television, printed media and bridal makeovers, plus character looks for retail brands. The studio also arranges artists for ad and clip productions, athletic events, music video shoots, movie sets and print jobs. According to the studio, every artist it works with is a licensed industry professional.

Lessons are personal and aim to leave clients more confident with makeup, in a setting the studio describes as fun, stress-free and all-inclusive.
