Cuts are done dry, curl by curl, on natural defined curls. Before an appointment, hair should be down, detangled, completely dry and no more than one day old. Heavy butters and oils are best avoided beforehand because they can change curl pattern, and hair should not be in a bun, ponytail, twist out, braids, clips or barrettes.
New clients book online through the Book Now link to create a client profile. The First Time Curly Client appointment runs three hours for $300 and covers a consultation, a dry curly cut, a gentle detox, deep conditioning, styling and curl definition, curl coaching if needed, and product recommendations. A New Client First Cut, also three hours at $300, includes a curl care plan and a take-home gift, and a first appointment with it is required for all new clients.
Appointments can be booked up to four months ahead. Clients can join a waitlist, and openings are offered first come, first served and posted on Instagram. The salon describes a strict 48-hour cancellation policy: notice of 25 to 48 hours is charged 50% of the reserved service, and 24 hours or less is charged 100%. No-shows are charged the full scheduled service automatically through the online booking system. Guests arriving more than 15 minutes late may not receive every part of their appointment and are charged in full if the service cannot be performed, so late arrivals should text the salon.
Color is ammonia-free, and the salon also offers Olaplex bond repair as an add-on. Clients transitioning from relaxer, keratin, chemical, color or heat-damaged hair may need several appointments and cuts to reach their goal. Clients who want to care for their curls at home can book a $150 styling lesson covering washing, conditioning and styling.
