The studio grew out of a career that began as an assistant to a European hairdresser who ran several salons. Later, Marla worked as a consultant for Sebastian International, which also distributed its products, and then worked with Toni & Guy and Jingles International. After moving to Greenville, SC, she opened the studio ten years ago.

Services are grouped into haircuts and styling, color, conditioning treatments, additional services such as keratin smoothing, Keratin Express, permanent waving and texturizing, and waxing for lip, chin and brows. Women's cuts include a consultation, shampoo, conditioner and scalp massage, and blowouts include the same steps, with flat irons and curls charged separately. Color options range from single process and foil highlights, which can include babylights, foliage, dimensional blonding and shadowing, to balayage and ombre. Color correction is priced after a consultation.

The keratin smoothing treatment is formaldehyde-free and takes about two to four hours depending on hair length and thickness. The studio says it removes frizz and adds shine, with results it states last three to five months. Keratin Express is a shorter option with results lasting six weeks to two months.

The studio chooses its products for ingredient integrity and reviews their ingredients. Stylists can advise clients on products that fit their daily routine. The studio is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and is closed Sundays and Mondays.
