Opal Skin Co. was opened in 2023 by Mikayla as her own private skincare studio in Tacoma. The studio says the name Opal stands for positive transformation, which it aims to offer every client.

Visits take place in a private studio. New clients complete intake paperwork, sent by email, before their first appointment, and bookings require a card on file. Clients who run late are asked to contact the studio, which will try to accommodate them but cannot guarantee the appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are subject to a 50% fee charged to the card on file.

The studio's acne work centers on Face Reality, a program that pairs a home care regimen with professional treatments, which can be performed on the face, chest or back. The studio describes the program as award winning. Two levels are offered: Level 1 is a 30-minute treatment and Level 2 is a 45-minute treatment that adds a chemical peel for deep congestion and scarring and requires a consultation first.

Beyond acne, the studio offers corrective peels and resurfacing, along with Classic and Elevated facials that can be adjusted to each client's skin. The studio says its treatments with Circadia and PCA Skin deliver visible results without compromising relaxation. Waxing covers the face, body and bikini areas. Hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, and the studio is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Treatments are personalized to each client's skin, pairing home care with in-studio work where a program calls for it.
