ONYX is owned and run by Marcos Pacheco, who runs it as a private studio rather than as part of a chain or franchise. The space is a single room with one chair and one client at a time. There is no waiting room, and appointments are spaced so they never overlap.
Every cut begins with a consultation. Clients who have had a bad cut or have moved between barbers are welcome, and the studio shows clients how to style their hair at home between visits.
Haircuts range from a children's cut for kids 12 and under to the Executive Cut, which includes a hot towel and a shoulder massage. Beard work runs from a quick trim to a traditional shave with hot and cold towels. Gray blending and permanent color are offered for hair and beard, and the studio does far more blending than permanent color.
Free parking is available out front in the Salon Lofts Waterside lot. Booking is online, or by calling or texting (941) 914-7828. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and the studio is closed Sunday and Monday.
Built as a private one-chair studio where service is one-on-one, each cut is shaped to the individual, and clients leave able to maintain their look at home.
