One Painted Pony

One Painted Pony is a small private studio at 6525 Bisby Lake Ave., Studio 1, in San Diego, located inside Sola Studios. Parking is easy, and the studio is set up to feel comfortable and private. Guests are offered Mimosas and La Croix.

Owner and stylist Marin Johannah has worked in the beauty industry for over 20 years. Before hairstyling, she worked as a DJ. She moved back to San Diego from Los Angeles in 2014 and opened the studio after a few years of building a client base. The studio was founded for clients who have brunette hair or wavy and curly textures that have been hard to manage at a regular salon.

The studio takes a holistic approach to hair care, with the aim that clients leave feeling good inside and out. It uses sustainable products and non-toxic styling products, carries DAVINES and CULT&KING hair-care lines, and supports brands that are kind to the earth and to animals. Its services are described as lower in toxins than average.

Prices are the same regardless of gender. The quoted prices are starting points until an in-person consultation, and new clients book that consultation through the New Client request form. The studio currently accepts adult clients only.
