Once Upon a Bride

Once Upon a Bride began in 1999, after founder Stacey Lyn Weinstein styled a friend's wedding and referrals followed. The business later expanded to represent hair and makeup artists, and according to the business it is one of the first bridal beauty agencies in New York.

The session covers three hair looks, along with makeup that moves from soft to natural to bolder finishes, all in one sitting.

On the wedding day, bridal party members are styled one at a time, and final looks and touch-ups are included. The groom and family can book their own personalized trial in advance or share inspiration photos, and a separate team handles the groom's side, coordinating preparation, photos and timing. Services can be delivered on location or in the private salon, which can also be opened for a bridal party. For larger weddings, a full team can work across several locations on the same day, and wedding day content creators are available on request.

Artists are arranged in three tiers. Visionary pairs clients with Stacey Lyn Weinstein and a makeup artist she chooses personally, with several looks explored at trial. Collective brings in educators and advanced technicians who work on textured and fine hair, complex updos, extensions and thinning hair. Signature favors light makeup with an emphasis on the skin, with an option for a soft natural smoky eye based on reference photos. According to the business, its private collective is one of the most sought-after artist groups in New York.

Each client is matched personally to an artist based on style, vision and wedding day story rather than assigned at random, and brides usually keep the same artist from their session through the wedding.
