The salon describes itself as one of the best hair salons in NYC and as being at the cutting edge of style, with a following in the fashion and entertainment worlds. It also says it has one of the best men's barbers in the city.
Once Upon A Bride was founded by Stacey Weinstein in 1999 and operates from the salon. Its artists travel to the wedding venue and can cover the whole wedding party, from the trial through the walk down the aisle. A concierge service sends stylists and makeup artists to clients' homes, hotels or offices in the Chelsea area. The salon also donates hair to Locks of Love, which makes hairpieces for children with medical hair loss, and donates to the Humane Society and the ASPCA, to which Stacey Weinstein contributes a portion of monthly salon profits.
The salon describes its hallmarks as a fashion-forward vision, creativity and precision. Color services use Goldwell and Organic Salon Systems products, with nourishing oils added to color formulas.
