The studio was launched in 2019 by Katie B. Larson and was set up as a shared space for like-minded artists. The salon says its five-star online reputation makes it Oakland's leading destination for microblading and cosmetic tattoo, a claim it makes about itself.

Clients start with an email consultation before booking, and each enhancement is custom designed with the client during a consultative appointment. Microblading uses a hand tool to create hair-like strokes in the upper layers of the skin. Nano brows use a single-needle tattoo machine to create a similar look, placed slightly deeper, and may last up to 3 years. The salon says microblading fades in roughly 12 to 18 months for most clients.

Cosmetic tattooing is a two-step process, and the work is not complete until the second session. Surface healing takes about 7 to 14 days, and the pigment looks darker at first before softening over the following weeks. Most clients describe discomfort as minimal to tolerable, and a topical anesthetic can be used if needed. Annual touch-up appointments are recommended to keep color and detail.

Clients must be 18 or older and review the contraindications list; some conditions may require a doctor's note. Anyone with previous tattoos, even faded ones, needs a digital consult and pre-approval before booking. Required forms are due at least 72 hours before the appointment. A non-refundable booking fee holds the appointment, and the remaining balance is due at the visit. Cosmetic tattoo reschedules need 72 hours' notice and aesthetic services need 24 hours. A no-call, no-show forfeits the booking fee, and the card on file is charged the full service plus a 20% gratuity. Arriving no more than 5 minutes early is requested. Personal belongings are limited to a cell phone and payment method, and a treatment can't be transferred between artists in the studio.

Before treatment, stop retinols, glycolics, AHAs and BHAs, vitamin C serums, and brow or lash serums one month ahead. Afterward, avoid rubbing or picking the area, keep makeup off the tattoo until it heals, and avoid tanning for at least 10 days. Sunscreen on the area once fully healed is recommended to help the color hold.
