Novato Acupuncture

Novato Acupuncture and Herb Clinic was founded by Charles Peri, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine who has practiced in Marin County for more than 20 years. The clinic is located in Novato's Nave Shopping Center and serves Marin County and surrounding areas.

Acupuncture is the foundation of the clinic's care and is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. Care takes a whole-person view that considers lifestyle, stress and environment alongside symptoms, and the clinic works with Western medical professionals to coordinate care when that makes sense.

The clinic takes bookings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with hours running from 9 to 5, and there is free parking. Acupuncture is used for pain, headaches and migraines, stress and anxiety, sleep problems, digestive complaints and women's health concerns. Each treatment uses a fresh, sterile needle that is discarded after one use. Massage therapy and Qi Gong are offered on site, and nutrition and homeopathy consultations are available as well.

Chinese herbal medicine can be used alone or alongside acupuncture for digestion, energy, stress, sleep, allergies, immunity and skin concerns. Custom formulas are prepared and mailed to patients, and prescriptions can also be filled on site as powders, tinctures or tablets. The clinic avoids herbs it considers controversial. Herbal formulas are usually purchased separately from insurance-covered consultations, and coverage varies by plan. Receipts are provided on request for insurance purposes.

AcuGlow is a non-surgical facial treatment that uses acupuncture, offered together with body acupuncture in each session. Sessions last about an hour and typically come as a short series followed by maintenance sessions, and the site says there is little to no downtime afterward. The practice describes itself as fully insured, accredited and state licensed.
