Nijira Braids was founded in 2010 as a family-owned hairbraiding shop. Its founder, Nijira, leads the business and has built it around braiding as a long-term craft.

The shop's philosophy centers on the idea that Black is beautiful, and it says its haircare products are meant to celebrate Black heritage. It describes itself as the top African hairbraiding shop in the DFW area and says it serves clients of all genders, races, sexual orientations and ages.

Visits can be booked by appointment or made as walk-ins. The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and is closed on Sundays. Debit and credit cards are accepted.
