Retightening is priced by appointment length. A youth retightening for clients 17 and younger takes about two hours and costs $100. Microlocks and Sisterlocks retightenings are $110 for two hours, $125 for two and a half hours, or $140 for three hours. Sisterlocks are generally retightened every four to eight weeks and not sooner than three weeks, while Microlocks are recommended every six to eight weeks. Hair should be shampooed no more than 24 hours before a retightening, and any braids or bands should be loosened beforehand.
Prospective clients can book a new client consultation to ask questions before deciding. Acceptance as a new client is determined at that consultation. Transfer clients with Microlocks can book a 15-minute transfer appointment at no charge, where hair is assessed.
For Sisterlocks care, the studio recommends washing every seven to ten days and using Sisterlocks Starter Shampoo during the first six months. During the first year, dye and lifts are best avoided, and clients should check with their consultant before and after any color. Appointments must be canceled by email or text within 24 hours, or the deposit is forfeited. Accepted payments are cash, Cash App and Zelle; personal checks and money orders are not accepted.
