Many visits begin with a 15-minute one-on-one consultation at the salon, where the stylist looks at the locs, hair goals, scalp condition and maintenance history. The consultation is required before certain services and recommended for new clients. Appointments can be requested by text, and same-day requests can be made the same way.

Education is a large part of what the salon offers. Loc-only classes are open to anyone and include hands-on practice, tools and a Certificate of Completion. Loc training sessions are aimed at cosmetology students, new stylists, licensed professionals and anyone who wants to focus on locs. The 4,000-hour apprenticeship covers loc services, cutting basics, color, chemical safety and salon practice, with hour tracking and one-on-one instruction along the way.

Beyond the chair, the salon publishes the Naturally Naps Podcast and sells handmade hair and skin products, including vegan loc products.

Hands-on education runs alongside the salon's client work, and some services start with a consultation so the plan fits the hair.
