The founder hand-made many of the early products. The salon was once the flagship location for Entwine Naturalle Couture Collezioni. Sophisticate's Black Hair Magazine and Stephany's Black Styles Magazine have both written about the salon. According to the salon, clients have come from across the United States and from Panama.

Visits typically start with a mandatory consultation, which begins at $25 and is where pricing and a healthy growth plan are discussed. Consultations for thinning and hair loss are $45, and Sisterlocks consultations are $50. Payment is due when the service is complete. Only participating stylists can be booked online; for anyone else, clients call (410) 585-8298. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM to 4 PM.

The head spa is a deep scalp cleanse combined with spa rituals drawn from Ayurvedic, Asian, African and Western practices. It includes scalp massage, a hair mask, steam and blow-drying, and sessions run 45 to 90 minutes. The salon suggests booking about every four to six weeks for most clients. Locks can be done during the head spa, while braids are at the discretion of the client's regular stylist. Clients are asked to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and to avoid heavy styling products that day. The salon says the treatment can support hair growth, scalp and hair health, product absorption and stress relief.

Arriving late is covered by a 30-minute grace period if the salon is notified; otherwise a $15 late fee applies to the service, or a $20 cancellation fee is added to the next appointment. Standing appointments are canceled after two cancellations or a no-show. Nuts and shellfish are not allowed in the salon, and shellfish should be avoided within 24 hours of an appointment. Children are welcome, especially when they are being serviced; otherwise a sitter should supervise them. Clients are asked not to take phone calls during services and to ask before charging devices.
