Beyond locs, the salon styles natural hair in many ways: cornrows for men, women and children, feed-in and knotless braids, crochet braids, faux locs, two strand twists, and an African threading style that the salon says can last up to eight weeks. Silk presses, smoothing treatments, wig application, invisible K-Tip extensions and soft glam makeup are also offered.
Consultations are $20 and most run about 30 minutes. Starter locs, loc extensions and K-Tips can be discussed virtually, while Sisterlocks and Micro Locs, Wicks and loc repair consultations are in person; the Sisterlocks consultation may include installing nine sample locs. Several braiding and silk press services take a non-refundable deposit. Appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled through the confirmation email links up to 36 hours before the visit.
The owner teaches a hands-on loc maintenance class for clients who want to care for their own locs, and a one-on-one Loc Specialist training course for those who want to learn the work professionally.
